On September 6, 2023, at 9:30 am, in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, brought up the good relations between Cambodia and Brunei to Sultan Haji HASSANAL BOLKIAH MU’IZZADDIN WADDAULAH of Brunei Darussalam, especially in the field of defense, after Samdech Thipadei’s visit as (Cambodia’s) commander of the army to Brunei Darussalam. The Sultan recalled in return his close friendship with Samdech Techo, (former Prime Minister, and currently) the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Throne of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Besides discussing the future direction of cooperation enhancement between Cambodia and Brunei, focusing especially on defense, security, education and training of human resources, agriculture, as well as people-to-people contacts between the two countries, Samdech Thipadei and the Sultan agreed to increase cooperation on cross-border crime prevention, private sector integration through the Chambers of Commerce and support for the implementation of bilateral dialogue mechanisms between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, while agreeing on exchanging official visits in the future./.
