Do my fellow Cambodian citizens have the same question as I do: Why does a group of overseas Cambodian politicians always accuse the Royal Government, without any evidence or documentation, of losing Cambodian land along the Cambodia-Thailand border between border markers 52 and 59 through the planting of temporary border posts and Thailand’s unilateral construction of a concrete border fence?
And they always use information sourced from Thai media broadcasts. What is strange and unusual this time is that over the past few days, Thai news publicly reported that Thailand’s unilateral concrete fence construction between border markers 52 and 59 has resulted in 66 Thai families—who used to farm 863 Rai (equivalent to 138 hectares) extending into Cambodian territory—no longer being able to continue doing so. Yet, this group of overseas Cambodian politicians has remained as silent as the grave yard.
Is the mindset of these Cambodian politicians so singular that they only accuse the Cambodian government of losing land (even without any clear documentation or evidence), while refusing to acknowledge or speak up about anything that contradicts this narrative, regardless of how clear the actual truth, evidence, and documents are?
