I would like to thank to Sister Sem Sokkea for responding to my appeal on October 1st by agreeing to meet with the provincial working group to find a solution regarding the land issue in the Antong Aing area (also known as Bopha Leak Khluon) at Phnom 1500 in Pursat province.
As I have already clarified, the Royal Government does not treat any citizen as an enemy. Especially for citizens who genuinely do not own land, the Royal Government always seeks solutions for them, such as granting social land concessions and building homes. We have previously provided these to thousands of families across the country through several programs, including the LASED project, land distribution for veterans and retirees, and land allocation for forest protection to drive sustainable development together.
I would like to thank His Excellency Khoy Rida, Governor of Pursat Province, and the working group led by His Excellency Keo Rottanak for their dedication to resolving the land issue in this area, including finding a solution for Sister Sem Sokkea in accordance with the Royal Government’s Win-Win policy.
I would like to reaffirm that the Antong Aing area (or Bopha Leak Khluon) at Phnom 1500 will be preserved as state public property. It will be replanted with trees to transform it into a natural ecotourism site for citizens and tourists to enjoy.
