Starting from September 19, 2026: I have been following and receiving consecutive progress reports regarding the minimum wage negotiation process for 2027 from H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and Chairman of the National Council for Minimum Wage.
Based on the final positioning of the employers’ representatives and workers/employees’ representatives, and in accordance with the Law on Minimum Wage, I have decided to add US$2 to the figure of US$206, which was supported by the majority of the National Council for Minimum Wage. In addition to this, I have also maintained the “temporary allowance for travel and accommodation expenses” of US$2.5 per month, to continue implementation in 2027, in accordance with the spirit of the meeting on March 20, 2016. Other benefits are also preserved.
Therefore, for the coming year 2027, the base wage—which is the total sum of the minimum wage and fringe benefits that workers/employees in the textile, garment, footwear, and travel products and bags sectors will actually receive—ranges between US$231.5 to US$242.5 per month.
I would like to express my gratitude to all members of the National Council for Minimum Wage who worked hard to negotiate with each other professionally and with a joint spirit—considering the living conditions of our worker-employees, national competitiveness, and the feasibility of creating new jobs for our workers and their family members. The Royal Government will strive to introduce further measures to help maintain the living standards of our workers and citizens, as well as work to improve the investment climate and support the development of local products to enhance competitiveness and attract additional investment.
